Sven-Hanson Britt is a busy young chef making a big impression. An impressive career from the beginning, Sven started out in the prestigious hotel The Ritz in London as an apprentice in 2007. Over his 8 years there, Sven’s skill and ability continued to develop which soon saw him progress to Sous Chef.

Whilst working in The Ritz, Sven was invited to compete on MasterChef: The Professionals in 2014, where he made it all the way to the final bowling over judges Marcus Wareing, Monica Galetti and Gregg Wallace with his exceptional cuisine. More recently in 2018 Sven was announced as one of the finalists of the coveted Roux Scholarship, shortlisted by a panel of judges including James Martin, Claire Smyth and Alain and Michael Roux Jr.

 

In addition to his role as Executive Chef of high end appliance manufacturer Miele, Sven is working on another new venture, which will open its doors in April 2019 in Melbourne, Derbyshire. Inspired by Sven’s passion for locally sourced food cooked to perfection, his new restaurant will offer diners a menu that changes daily and showcases the freshest local produce - a large amount of which will be grown in the Victorian walled garden on the property.

Speaking of his new opening he says that it has always been his ambition to open a small, sustainable and rural restaurant with a menu showcasing produce grown and reared by his team. The design will accentuate the historic building it inhabits and we cannot wait to take a look.
